For Locals

Local FAQ

What you need to know about being a Local on Delbazi — from applying to getting paid.

Becoming a Local

Who can become a Local?

Anyone settled in Dubai with genuine local knowledge and a real willingness to help newcomers. Whether you know the schools, the neighbourhoods, the paperwork, or the culture, there is someone who could use your perspective.

How do I apply?

Create a Local profile: tell us about your background and expertise, the languages you speak, the packages you want to offer, and your weekly availability. It only takes a few minutes to get going.

Is my profile reviewed before it goes live?

Yes. Every profile is reviewed to keep the marketplace trustworthy. We may approve it, request a few changes, or decline it. If we ask for changes, you will get a note explaining exactly what to adjust, and you can resubmit.

How long does approval take?

We aim to review new profiles quickly. You will be notified in-app the moment there is a decision on your application.

Sessions & packages

What is a Delbazi session?

Every session sold on Delbazi is a 1-to-1 video call held directly on the platform. It is not an in-person meeting, a coffee, a neighbourhood tour, or a call on Zoom, WhatsApp or any other app. Please do not offer those in your packages.

How do I set my prices?

You create your own service packages — for example a pre-move chat or a housing-search session — and set the price and duration for each one. The price you enter is the price of the whole package, and the duration is the length of one video call. You stay in full control of what you charge.

Can one package include more than one session?

Yes. A package can include 1 session or 3 sessions. A 3-session package is three separate 1-to-1 video calls with you, each the length you chose. The Mover pays once and books each call separately, so the three calls can be on different days.

How does my availability work?

You set a recurring weekly schedule in Dubai time. Movers can only book slots you have actually opened, and we automatically protect a short lead time before each session so nothing lands on top of you.

Can I edit my packages later?

Yes. You can update your packages whenever you like. Editing them will never cancel sessions that movers have already booked — those bookings are always preserved.

Getting paid

How and when do I get paid?

When a paid session is completed, the session amount becomes available in your payout records. Delbazi pays it out by bank transfer.

How much of my price do I keep?

You keep 80% of the price you set. Delbazi keeps 20% as commission, which pays for matching, payments, support, and the video calls.

The mover also pays a 10% service fee on top of your price. That fee goes to Delbazi and does not change what you earn. Example: you set $100, the mover pays $110, and you receive $80.

Are intro calls paid?

No. Locals are not paid for intro calls. Intro calls are part of your opportunity to meet new clients on the platform — payment is only made for subsequent booked sessions.

This is spelled out in our Terms, which every Local accepts during onboarding.

Then why offer intro calls at all?

They are the top of your funnel. An intro call is a low-pressure way for a mover to meet you and decide to work with you — and many full, paid bookings begin with a good first conversation.

Managing your profile

How do I get bookings?

A complete, verified profile with clear packages and open availability gets matched to movers whose needs fit your expertise. The more helpful and specific your profile, the better the matches.

Can I message movers?

Movers reach out first. Once there is a booking between you, you can chat with them in-app to prepare for the session.

What if I need to step away for a while?

You can adjust or clear your availability at any time, and cancel eligible bookings from your dashboard — the mover is always notified when you do.
